Help, please, my friend is getting married 12/09, alot of things to do, how can I help her stay on track?

There are so many things she needs to plan for. I have offered well in advance to help with anything. I am a bridesmaid, but don’t know who else is, or how many. (she has not decided yet) My friend, the bride told me she wants to cut corners, so no, wedding party favors or cameras on the tables for guests. 2 days later she told me that they will have 2-3 photographers. Her wedding is at a very expensive venue however no contract has been signed yet. A few months ago I gave her a planning guide but she says she has not looked at it. The only thing done is the wedding dress.
I got married on June 20th and found the checklist on www.theknot.com to be very helpful.
If she wants to cut costs, the best way to do it is to cut the guest list (easiest way – an adults only wedding – kids meals are expensive and the kids rarely have fun).
Her venue may have preferred partners to work with (caterer, cake, etc). If that is the cake, it will be much faster to move things along.
