Need to plan a wedding on a budget?
January 22, 2009
I just got engaged 2 weeks ago. My fiance and i have a house and daughter and plan to get married in August this year. I need any tips on planning a wedding on a budget. Very small budget!!! Please help. I live in Rhode Island! Thanks!!!!
Weddings are expensive if you want them to be. But if you want to keep money aside for a deposit on a house or a honeymoon to remember, then there are many cost cutting ideas. All you need is a little imagination, and some help from friends and family and you too can have a luxury wedding with all the trimmings.

i'm not sure what is availabe in Rhode Island, but if you can find an ordained minister…they usually run about $100. and have it at a pretty park or in somebody's back yard. And have reception there.

Easiest thing – keep it small and simple. Just invite your closest family and friends (keep the numbers under 50). Don't go for a fancy dress ….. look for a second hand one. Opt out of favours – no one will miss them. Instead of a dinner have a cocktail hour or brunch instead. And get flowers from your local grocery store instead of a florist. Oh and for invitations make your own – a heck of a lot cheaper! There are tons of websites on budgeting…. GOOD LUCK & CONGRATS
