Anyone ever plan a simple wedding on a Miami area beach?

January 17, 2009

I live in Texas and would like to get married on a Miami area beach before setting sail on our honeymoon cruise. It will just be him and I. Has anyone out there done this before? Any contacts or info for that area would be appreciated.

Haven't done it, but I know people who have in a beachfront hotel. Contact the hotel concierge or catering office & they'll handle it. OR, if you have a beach front restaurant in mind, they may handle it. OR, if it's just the two of you, you will need: A Miami-Dade marriage license (no waiting period; but get it at least the day before to avoid glitches; you need picture ID. I believe there is a branch clerk in the Miami Beach City Hall who can issue them); a Notary Public or Judge, Deputy Clerk or ordained clergyman, and a witness to endorse the license. Then just troop them out to the beach; say the words; have the witness & Marrying officer endorse the license & pour yourselves a drink. Don't forget to mail back the signed license (suggest you make a photo-copy first). Congratulations.
